The Formula of Maths

 A childless king once created a very difficult puzzle in his kingdom and announced that whoever could solve this “formula of maths” would become the heir to the throne. The kingdom was informed that the person who solved the puzzle would open the door, and whoever couldn’t would be rejected.

After this announcement, not only scholars of the kingdom but also mathematicians from neighboring kingdoms tried to solve the formula. But no one could solve it. Many days passed like this.

One day, a simple-looking young man arrived at the palace and requested permission to attempt the puzzle. The royal advisors were surprised—if great mathematicians couldn’t solve it, how could this ordinary-looking poor boy solve it? But the king allowed him to try.

The young man tried for a while but couldn’t solve it. Then suddenly, he noticed something and used his small but sharp mind. He realized that the door had no relation to the formula written on the wall. The puzzle didn’t need to be solved at all. He simply pushed the door—and it opened!

The truth was simple: There was no need to solve the formula. The real obstacle was imaginary.

A Lesson of True Kindness

 There were two houses in a neighborhood — one belonged to a rich family and the other to a poor family.

One day, the poor family’s wife went to the rich neighbor to borrow some sugar.
The rich lady kindly gave her the sugar.

The next day, the rich lady went to the poor neighbor’s house to borrow some salt.
The poor lady immediately gave her the salt.

Seeing this, the rich lady’s husband calmly asked her:

“We already had salt at home. Why did you borrow it from them?”

The rich lady replied with a thoughtful smile:

“Yes, we have everything. But the poor family does not always get a chance to give something to others.
When I asked for salt, they felt happy that they could help us.
I did it so they could feel that they too have value in our lives and in this neighborhood.”
